I was on Reddit and saw loads of people asking about lost data and forgotten passwords, and it baffled me. We all look after our keys and wallets, so why don’t we look after our passwords and data with the same care? Losing your iCloud password or phone can mean losing everything. Look after your data like you look after your house keys.

Over the weekend, I was checking out Reddit. I’m guessing you know what Reddit is. It’s basically an online forum for everything. It’s kind of good stuff to be found there.

Anyway, so I was having a look around on some Apple forums. And you know, most of the questions that were asked was, I’ve lost data. I can’t access something. I can’t get this to. to work. I’ve lost my iPhone and I can’t remember my password.

So passwords and data loss were the most things that people were asking. And I’m kind of baffled as to why someone would not look after their data or passwords.

So we have keys. I’m looking for my keys. When you’re out, you make sure your keys are in a place where no one can steal them. Same with your wallet, same with your money, same with your phone. Although nowadays people stick their phones in their back pockets and don’t give a shit about what happens to it. But you get my idea. You look after your keys.

So if you’re that scared of losing your keys, why are you not that scared in losing your passwords or your data? It baffles me.

I mean, I’m a tech guy, and I’ve done this for a long time, and I’ve always been a tech guy. So, yes, I’m the professional, and of course I would do it. But everyone has keys to their house, and they look after them. When did it become where we didn’t look after our keys? I mean, it’s crazy to me.

So the security of your data and security of your devices, security of your password, are vitally important. So you have to have a way of keeping that stuff in check. We can go into talking about having different passwords for everything, et cetera. But the point is to make sure we know where our passwords are. Some people I have have them in a little black book. Now, it’s not ideal, but it’s good because at least they have them somewhere. But many people have no idea.

They lose their passwords on their computer. They lose their phone, they lose their iCloud. I mean, if you lose your iCloud password and you have no, and you’ve lost your phone, and you have no way of getting back into your iCloud, your data is lost. It’s crazy.

And these are the things that I’ve been reading on the forums on Reddit. Look after your data. For goodness sake, please look after your data because no amount of hacking can, can get your data back if you don’t, if you lose your keys, basically. You lose your keys to the house, someone’s going to come in and steal it, and then you can’t get it back, pretty much.
