‘Busyness’ can kill opportunities
Being ‘busy’ can be a double edge sword. On the one hand, it’s great to be working, but on the other, it doesn’t leave time for other urgent things.

Summary
I got annoyed when someone said they were busy 24-7 for a personal necessity. Being that busy means losing opportunities and getting burnt out from back-to-back meetings. Kill off the busyness, get rid of unnecessary meetings, and make time for what actually matters. Life is there once, so stop being so bloody busy.

Earlier today, I had to make an appointment with someone on a, it’s a personal thing, not a work thing. And he replied to me, he said, I’m busy 24-7 and I can’t do it right now. Can we do it next week?
Now, bear with me with this, because it kind of annoyed me. Firstly, it annoyed me. And then I understood why he’s busy. I mean, he’s always busy. And I just don’t understand this whole busyness thing.
I don’t think anyone should be that busy to not be able to do something that they need to do. This was a necessity, something we needed to do together. Again, personal thing, not a work thing. So I couldn’t quite understand why he was so busy.
So it got me thinking about all the lost opportunities that you could have if you’re so busy. You’re so busy in your day that you don’t have time set aside to do anything relatively important. It just blows my mind how people do this.
People book meetings, I’ve spoken about this in the past. People book meetings back to back and then wonder why they get burnt out because they have no time to digest the first meeting that they were in before they go into the next one and the next one and the next one.
So you have to kill off that busyness. There is a way to fix that busyness. Get rid of things that you don’t use. need meetings that you never need to be in. I’m not a fan of meetings. I love meeting people, but I hate having meetings. I only have meetings if it’s really urgent. Otherwise, it’s written down in my base camp and everyone, all my clients see it if I’m working with a client.
But on a personal level, yes, it’s different to meeting your friends and family, but if you need to do something personally and the person says to you, I’m busy, I don’t get it. It doesn’t compute with me.
So losing you, I mean, you basically can lose opportunities because you’re busy. Can you imagine you’re working, you’re trying to talk to prospects and you’re basically saying, sorry, I’m a bit busy at the moment. Can we talk next week or in three days time or next month? I’ve had next month. It just blows my mind.
So kill off your busyness and create that so you can create those opportunities for yourself because again, life is there once.
Have a good day and I’ll see you the next one. Bye.
