Summary

I booked a transport company with a great website and even better reviews, but their back office turned out to be absolute shit. No replies to emails, no answers to calls, and no text message when they said they’d send one. It’s all well and good having great SEO and marketing, but if you can’t actually deliver on the work, it’s a bit shit. So make sure you have a great workflow for your business!

As you know, I’ve been talking about my truck for a while. I’m going to be rebuilding it so I can go on my road trip towards the end of August. The problem is it’s not road legal at the moment. It doesn’t have its Dutch plates at the moment. So it’s in Amsterdam, so I wanted to find a transport company that could take it from Amsterdam to the east of Holland where I’ll be working on it. But I didn’t really, because I didn’t really want to drive it, it hasn’t got Dutch plates, etc.

Now, I went on to search. I searched for a transport company. They were based in Amsterdam. Their website looked amazing. You could book online. You could call them. You could email them. So I booked online after doing some research, Google search, et cetera, their Google page for their reviews. Everything was awesome. Even the booking online gave them all the information and it was great. They said they were contacted me within five days, brilliant. The whole process was amazing but I had issues, and the issues was I couldn’t contact them at all after I booked. I got a receipt and that was about it, but I got the receipt after a few hours. I didn’t get it straight away so I was a bit worried as to oh they’ve stolen my money and I’m not going to get anything.

So that was the first thing. Second thing was, after like three or four days, I started emailing them. Hey, is everything okay? Did you get my order, et cetera? Didn’t hear anything back. I called them the following day. It was a voicemail. Nothing. I kept calling them over the past couple of days. All I kept getting was a voicemail.

Yesterday, yeah, yesterday I contacted them again by phone, and someone actually did pick up. So I said, you know, what’s happening, etc. I was supposed to get a text. It goes, no, your transport is being arranged for tomorrow, being today. I thought, great. He said, you’ll get a text message this evening. We don’t know what time it will be tomorrow, but you’ll get a text message and then you’ll know roughly when it is. Great, okay, brilliant.

Tomorrow came, which is today. I didn’t receive a text message. I was waiting. I slept in my clothes because I thought, shit, I’ve got to drive straight to Amsterdam because I’m miles away. Nothing happened. Absolutely nothing happened. So this morning, I contacted them. Again, nothing. And I’m freaking out now because they’ve got my money and I need to get the car transported. The whole process has been a real pain in the butt.

Today I got a call saying, someone’s been trying to call me. So I thought I’d call back. I’m like, dumb fuck, it’s me. So anyway, he seemed fine. I booked, we booked an appointment for tomorrow morning. Should be good, so hopefully tomorrow will be picked up.

The reason why I’m going through this whole story is because it looks like their SEO and marketing game is great. But the back office, the running of the company, is absolute shit. Now, I can’t be the only one having this issue because when I try to call, obviously other people are calling. When I try to email, obviously other people are emailing. And I’m getting no reply whatsoever. So the back office is crap. They got me thinking about people’s workflows in their business, how crap it is. It’s all well and good getting all this work, but if you can’t actually deliver on the work, it’s a bit shit.

And, anyway, hopefully tomorrow I will know more. I’ll see you tomorrow. Have a great day. Ciao.
