I left my wallet in El Segundo

Well, not quite.

That’s a song by A Tribe Called Quest.

But I did forget my phone in my truck when I went for groceries on my bike. I was almost there when I turned around.

Half way back, I thought to myself…

Wait a sec, why the fuck am I going back to get it when I have an actual wallet, with real money in it!!!

So I turned back towards the store. Did my groceries. And the sky didn’t fall.

This simple episode got me thinking about the technology we slave for. And why we ‘consciously’ tell ourselves lies about needing them.

Think about it. We all feel ’naked’ when we leave our phones behind, I know I do. But that’s a ‘conscious’ thing.

The ‘unconscious’ me, was happily cycling with wind in my hair, and no care in the world.

Once I realised I left it, I freaked!

This obsession for the tech we have running our lives, is actually ruining every aspect of our lives is unhealthy.

So, change it.
