I always say listen to experts, but I didn’t listen when they told me to put a heater in my truck. It got insanely cold, so I finally installed one and it’s been amazing. Experts aren’t gurus trying to steal your money, they’re there to help you get the best out of your situation.

I’m always saying that you should be listening to experts and their advice when you do something. If you need something done, you don’t know how to do it, listen to the experts because they’ve done it for years and they know how to do it. But I didn’t heed my own advice.

As you know, I’ve been building my truck out and I’m on the road. I’m effectively living in my truck for a while and I love it. I’ve been wanting to go to Spain for such a long time and do a massive road trip with my dog, Woof!, hey Woof!? So I wasn’t expecting to be here.

Now my, the people around me and the experts were basically telling me put in a heater, put a heater in your car, in your truck. And I’m like, well, I have a heater, I don’t need a heater if I’m sitting in my car working or whatever it is, I can just use a blanket. Now, that worked at times. But recently it’s been insanely cold, like insanely cold. In fact, let me just show you very quickly where I am. This is where I am. It’s misty, it was crazy earlier today. So it’s been incredibly cold.

So I thought, okay, let me just order a heater and put it in. Yesterday I put it in, I put it in. I’ve got to go back to finish the cabling properly. But yesterday I went to the workshop put it in and this today, last night even it’s been amazing it’s been fantastic I mean I’m actually too hot like this this is fashion this isn’t cold this is because I like wearing hats and I’m growing my hair but I am actually quite hot Woof! is not using his blankets I’ve bought special blankets for him he’s not using it at the moment the car is there’s no condensation I don’t smell it, I don’t hear it, I just hear the fan, like the vent coming out. And it’s freaking awesome. It’s better than awesome.

And it got me thinking about people listening or not listening to experts. Even I didn’t listen to the expert who told me put a heater in. We have to listen to experts. Sometimes they come across as gurus, effectively. Don’t listen to gurus, but listen to experts. People who have done it before my best my best friend effectively he’s got a camper van and he had a heater in and I was like I don’t need a heater I’m going to go to Spain but if I remember the last time I went to Spain I actually stayed on top of mountains and when I was sleeping there it was cold there as well so it’s handy to have a heater.

The good thing about this truck is that it’s so big I love this truck. Especially the engine bay has got so much space that I just basically put it into the engine bay. That was my idea. I okayed it with the engineer, my good friend who helped me install it. You said, yeah, it’ll be fine. And it’s been great. I’ve had it on all night. I’ve had it on last night. I don’t leave it on while I’m sleeping. And it’s been great.

So listen to experts. They’re not always there to steal your money. They’re there to help you get the best out of the situation you’re in. Anyway, hopefully I’ll see you again. See you next time.
