Making things simpler to have more time

We all want to do many things, but often we don’t have the time to do those things. What if we made things easier and simpler so we can create, or better still, not waste time on silly things to be able to do them?

Summary

Time goes quicker as you get older, so you need to remove friction and simplify everything. Everything around you, especially tech, is a distraction and a time suck, so get rid of what you can. I had a call where the client was astounded with me for just sending a payment link with one button, no invoices or transfers.

I’ve realised that the older I get, the quicker time goes. And I’m sure you’ve realised this too.

When you’re younger, it seems like time is standing still because you want to grow up. And when you grow up, time just flies out of the door. And it’s crazy.

It got me thinking about a lot of stuff. This is probably the reason why. I mean, I kind of started my journey about 20 years ago about simplifying everything. But recently, I’ve realised that it really does help not to have friction in your life, wherever it is, because time does go so much quickly, quicker, I should say.

So you kind of want to do your own things. You want to do your own stuff, walk, read, bike, trek, climb, swim. All of these things take time. So if time does go quicker for you, like I said in yesterday’s video, a day before, we make things easier for ourselves, make things more comfortable for ourselves.

Things are already complicated. Life is complicated. So we do need to make things easier for ourselves. And it got me thinking about how everything that we have around us is just a distraction and a time suck.

It doesn’t matter what it is. I mean, looking at my old studio here, it doesn’t matter what it is, it still sucks time out of the time that you have around to do the things that you want to do. So if, I’m still looking at my studio, if this stuff kind of takes so much of your time away, wouldn’t it be good to make sure that the things that we do have control of the things that are around us that we can minimise it and get rid of it.

Again, this is a tech channel. So I am specifically talking about tech, but it kind of works. I mean, that kind of works for anything. Like things take over your time, so get rid of it, cut it out. Why do it?

I had a call today and it was a great call and hopefully we’ll be working together. then she said, how can I pay you? And I said, well, I just send you a link, you press a button. It’s that simple. And she’s like, oh, thank goodness, because people send me invoices and I have to transfer. And no, I don’t want, I don’t want any of that. I shouldn’t want that for you, the client either. So just make it simple. Press one button, get it done.

Anyway, something on my mind I wanted to bring out. Until the next time, I’ll see you. Until next time, yeah. I see in the next video. Have a good day. Ciao.
