No question is a stupid question
The very fact you have to ask a question means you’re willing to learn. So if you answer a question, and it’s wrong, don’t think of it as you being wrong. That’s especially true when it comes to the pronunciation of someone’s name.

I have a foreign name that people always pronounce wrong, and that’s fine. What bothers me is people apologising for it. If you don’t know something, you ask. Because no question is a stupid question. People get irate about names being said wrong, but if you don’t know, how are you supposed to know? Chill out and ask away.

So I was in this clubhouse room, and this happens pretty much every single time when I’m in conversation, not necessarily anything to do with clubhouse. And I have a funny name, right? It’s a foreign name. It’s not an English name. I love my name. I’ve even shortened it, but everyone pronounces it wrong, and it just, it doesn’t bother me.
What bothers me is people apologising for getting it wrong. Now, some people may be offended, and I hate that word about people getting it wrong. But think about this for a moment. If you don’t know something, forget names. If you don’t know something and you have to ask a question about that thing, it’s not a stupid question, right? If you get it wrong, it’s not stupid because you don’t know. You don’t know that thing. I don’t know how to fly a plane, so I have to ask questions. I don’t know what the spigot is called on the plane. I have to ask questions. And there’s no different to names.
So if someone gets your name wrong, chill the fuck out. I mean, I’ve had people get so irate and annoyed with people not getting, like, if they don’t know, how are they supposed to know?
It’s not a Friday Fury episode. But I just wanted to make you aware that. no question is a stupid question. There isn’t a stupid question. I do have a rule. If you ask me three times the same question, then it’s a stupid question. But generally, if you don’t know anything and you ask, don’t think you’re stupid. It’s just that you don’t know. And it’s fine. There’s many things I don’t know. There’s many things I do know. Vice versa.
So no question is a stupid question. No is a stupid question unless you ask me three times. Some people have lower threshold. Some people have a higher threshold. But no question is a stupid question.
So, going back to me, me, me, me, if you say my name, don’t worry about it. I don’t think it should bother anybody if you say their name wrong. But again, no question is a stupid question. So ask away and be silly like I. Anyway, have a great day. I see you next time. Ciao.
