Summary

The problem with comfort zones is that we get comfortable and stagnant. Since I moved out of my apartment and started living on the road, I’m way more active, and productive.

Clients often stay stuck in their tech comfort zones, but getting out of it is one of the best things you can do. You’ll thank me later.

The problem with comfort zones is that we get comfortable. And since I’ve moved out of my apartment, I’ve realised what I was doing back when I had my apartment was being bit too comfortable. I was getting my work done, I was seeing friends, I was doing stuff, that wasn’t actually a problem. But I found myself in that comfort zone and I couldn’t get out of it.

As you know, I’ve been on the road for the past three months, living on the road, living in the car, living in different houses and I’m loving it even though I’m uncomfortable uncomfortable in the sense that I’m not actually uncomfortable but I’m not in my comfort zone. I’m getting a lot more done, my mind is way more active, I’m seeing lots of new things and I’m learning lots of new things fixing things and managing life in a completely different way. The fact that I was sitting stagnant was impeding my work, impeding my thought processes, impeding the way I worked with my clients.

Now I’m way, way freer.

And when I do work with clients, I notice that they’re in this comfort zone with their technology and the apps that they use and the way that they’ve been taught how to use their computers and email and whatever, that I’m trying to kick their ass to get out of that because getting out of your comfort zone is when we, do learn when we do understand more when we do research the things that we actually want to do. Because comfort zones are nice, it’s a, it’s a nicety, but they are not necessary and they are detrimental to your mental health to your mental well-being to your understanding of other things. So getting out of your comfort zone I think is probably one of the best things you could do, it works for many and it’s worked for me and I can’t imagine going back to that comfort zone.

For instance, I’m now at my friend’s house and I’m sitting on the couch and I’ve sat there for like four hours doing stuff on the internet where if I was in my car I’d be going for a walk with my dog and doing lots of other things being active and it feels weird to actually go into an apartment and sleep there and stuff. I’d rather sleep, you know, in my truck or in my car.

So get out of your comfort zone. You’ll thank me later. Trust me. I’ll see you next time. Ciao.
