Something I thought about posting in the past, but didn’t…

Many years ago, a client of mine was going through a (non-lethal) health issue.

We spoke about it for a while. And at the end of our conversation, one thing that was said struck me as quite odd.

But I kept it in the back of my mind about things one should, or shouldn’t share in business. Because ‘it could hurt my business’.

I felt very privileged for this person to share something personal. And to be honest I didn’t find it at all strange, weird, or anything odd. I found it to be ‘human’.

But here we are. Trying to ‘keep up with the Joneses’. Trying to make ourselves look more important. Trying to stay ‘business like’ for others to see we’re doing well!

Fuck that shit!

Here’s the thing, I have many clients talk to me about their struggles, business or otherwise. I know MANY people who work for themselves that struggle with their business in many diferent ways.

Many have told me, very recently in fact, about not having enough clients. And feel lost in the vast landscape of internet enshitification.

And I’m sure you reading this is going through something. I know I am.

The thing is, we all have the ability to get out of out shit-storms. Why else would we be in business for ourselves if we weren’t able to dust off and carry on!

So today, I declare Feb 2, as my Jan 1.

My story?

I’ve spoken about this before, but 2025 has been the shitiest year I have known for a very long time. I was once told that we go through a 7-year cycle of good/bad.

Not sure if I believe in that type of voodoo, but it seems there might be some trough in it.

Going through some personal things (for the last 4 years) and my dog dying in 2025 created the air of ‘fuck it’, which caused issues with my business.

But now, I’m dusting it off, and starting again.
