In yesterday’s video about me making a course about video, how to make it, equipment you use and stuff, I actually had a lot of replies, emails to me, which was awesome because it kind of gets me thinking that a lot of people are interested, but a lot of people want to know what’s going on with it. Well, I will reveal soon, probably towards the end of this week, probably next week, because I’m trying to figure out what to put in there. I know exactly what I should put in there, but there might be something missing.

What I wanted to talk about was people have noticed one of my old photos that I posted about my desk setup with the lights and the big camera and the big video head and stuff like this and are wondering if that’s what they need.

Actually no, you can do it with just an iPhone, I personally wouldn’t, but you can do it with an iPhone, depends on the type of look and aesthetics you want, and I’m gonna go through that in that course a bit more, but but yeah, so people were wondering do I need this big camera and lights and stuff, so no you don’t, does it make a difference, yes it does, do you need it, no.

Fact, funny enough, I’m going to be selling my camera lights and everything because I want to go more minimal. So I’m looking through what camera two gets to be able to do this. The reason why I say don’t do it on the phone, yes, you can put it on do not disturb and stuff.

But I think what I usually say about tools for your computer, there are specific tools for a specific job. A phone is a phone. It’s great to have in your pocket to pull out and take photos of videos.

But if you want to do something a bit more professional and make it look better, don’t use your phone. Even though, however great it is, I made a mistake years ago when I bought this phone and thought, you know, I’m just going to have this phone to do everything. Obviously, cameras get better.

Optics get better. And to be honest, it just looked bad. So I didn’t use it.

And I see a lot of people who do use it. There’s nothing wrong with it, but it’s not great. Does that make sense?

So you can wear a Casio watch. It’s a fantastic watch. Or you can get a Seco watch that isn’t digital.

Different things, different tools, different things work differently. And I’m hoping that you’re getting this course because you want to learn those things as well as how do I push this button. Because how do I want to push this button?

There’s a million and one YouTube videos out there. And I don’t want to be one of those YouTube channels where I talk about the numbers. I want to talk about the aesthetics, the design, the branding of your channel, your video.

So anyway, I will be selling most of the stuff that you saw in that video, in that photo of my desk, because I think it’s just too much you know, now doing it for such a long time, I kind of don’t need it, but I do want better quality. That’s why I don’t want to use a, what’s it called, an action camera. I’ve got a DJI action camera.

I’ve even got a hero. I bought those because I thought they would replace this, but they’re too small and the length. I’ll go into it at another time.

So you don’t need masses of equipment, but you don’t need, also don’t need a tiny little camera like your iPhone or whatever. You need something in between that will basically work and I will go through that.

Yeah, don’t do what I do, do as I say. It sounds so rude, but it’s kind of true in a way. Don’t read into YouTube videos where they talk about numbers.

They’re not telling you how to use your equipment or what you need because it’s different for different people. Anyway, hopefully that helps. And don’t forget, there’s a form below.
