The VDS crapped out

My VDS was down for secluded maintenance by the provide. But it was down longer than expected, it can happen.

When it came back up, I had issues logging in via SSH, that sucked! Was able to get back by frantically trying to figure out what had happened.

Not worries, shit happens. But I got back in!

Then tried to send out a newsletter. Nope, port 587 was blocked.

Blocked?! How?! What the hell is going on?!

Spoke to the supplier about it, helpful, but we weren’t able to figure it out. So I went and pressed the nuke button after exhausting all possibilities.

Killed the mail server docker container(s), rebuilt it. Nope, still nothing.

I’ve spent too much time on this, so now I think I’ll nuke the whole server and rebuild from the ground up!

Not something I want to do, but as I’m not a sysadmin level kinda guy, it’s the only option I have.

I’m also toying with the idea of just moving over to a blog host rather than a VDS, but I like the flexibility of having my own space on the net.

Sucks to be me right now.
