Summary

Unlearn to learn is a huge thing that always sticks in my mind. You get told to use certain systems and apps, but they’re useless when you actually do the work, so you have to unlearn that shit and learn by doing. Watch and read to gauge ideas, then do your own thing.

You’ve heard of the phrase unlearn to learn. And I kind of subscribe to that quite a lot. There’s a lot of things that I’ve learnt thinking, oh, it’s going to be great. This is going to be fantastic for my business, for my car, my dog, whatever.

But when it actually comes to doing that thing, I realise that I have to unlearn everything that I’ve learnt to actually do it properly. And it happens a lot with technology, as I said, with cars, with home life, with your business, with the technology you use for your business. You get told, you learn via these courses that this app is great, to this way of doing things are great, using this system. And I god damn hate systems. Is great GTD M MFF or MFI W EF, whatever the fuck acronym they use, CIA FBI whatever it is. Anyway, they’re just useless when it comes to you actually doing the work, where you’ll find that you have to unlearn everything to actually do what you need to do.

So unlearn to learn is such a huge thing and it always sticks in my mind. I watch videos, I read articles, I read social media to kind of gauge an idea of what’s going on and then put it in the back of my mind and actually do what I need to do when I’m doing it, to learn the thing that I’m actually doing it, doing by doing, rather than just trying to do the things that make no sense whatsoever.
