Summary

There’s a difference between working in your business and on your business. You need separate tools for work and for running your business. I separate my life into personal, work, and business, and it makes choosing tools much easier. Work is client work, business is what I do for my business, and they are not the same thing at all.

As you know, there’s a difference between working in your business and on your business. They’re completely separate things. And you have tools for the two separate things.

So when you’re doing your work, you need tools to do your work. So, for instance, I’m a consultant and a coach, and I work remotely. So I need to be able to connect to the client. So I use remote software.

I actually use a app called Around. So it’s like Zoom type thing or what’s the remote app. Gosh, I’ve forgotten. Remotix, for instance. So those are the tools that I need to do my work.

But there’s another set of tools that a lot of people don’t really think about when they’re running their business, which is to run your business. You need tools to run your business. You need a CRM. You need a project management tool.

That could be used for both, but basically a project management tool, a communication tool if you’re working in a team. I mean, project management tool if you’re working in a team as well. So there are completely different sets of tools for the different parts of your business.

If you’re doing social media, that’s tools for your business because you’re doing social media for somebody else, as well as for yourself, basically. So if you separate the tools, two, tools that I need for my work and tools that I need for my business, it makes a lot more sense when it comes to choosing those tools.

So for instance, the way I’ve got my tool set up, there are three areas in my life. There’s personal, there’s work, and there’s business. And I get asked a lot about what’s the difference between work and business. It’s quite simple. Work is client work, work that I have to do. Business is stuff that I have to do for myself to make my business run.

So I have different calendars. I have different to-do lists. I have different methods for those two sections. And it’s exactly the same with my tools. I have work tools that I need to do when I’m working with my clients. And I have business tools to run my business and make things easier to run my business for myself.

So it’s something that you should really think about when it comes to picking your tools because, yeah, work and business are actually two separate things. They’re not the same thing at all. Anyway, if you have any questions, let me know. There’ll be a link below. And I’ll see you in the next one. See ya. Ciao.
