Summary

I sometimes wonder if I’m doing things right, especially working on my own. But I decided early on I didn’t want to grow or scale. I just want to make enough to live. Life should be a holiday with work incidental. And mine feels like a constant holiday because I keep my shit in order and don’t worry about getting clients or new tech.

You know, sometimes I wonder if I’m doing something right. We all do. We all wonder if we’ve got everything right in our lives and so on. Whether it’s with our work, our business, am I doing that marketing right? Am I using the right app? Is this to do list the right thing? Is this project something that I really want to take? We all have this idea of, am I doing something right? Especially when we work on our own.

You know, I don’t want to talk about imposter syndrome per se because we all know our business. We all know what we do and what we do well. But the running of the business and how we can make our business grow, if that’s what you want to do. I decided at an early stage that I didn’t want to grow and I didn’t want to scale. I just wanted to work to make enough money to live. But a lot of people want to grow and buy that mansion and a car and whatever. Not my thing, but people do. So are we doing enough to get that goal?

I just sometimes feel that my life, I believe life should be a holiday and the work should be incidental. And I’ve talked about this before. It feels like my life is a constant holiday, and I love it because I, so for instance, this morning I woke up and I went on to Clubhouse. Not the first thing I did, but I went on to Clubhouse. But I was listening to Clubhouse while I was brushing my teeth. And I was thinking, you know what? How awesome is this? How awesome is it to know that I can just wake up at pretty much any time as long as there’s nothing to do? and do things that I need to do, get it all done. But I’m brushing my teeth listening to Clubhouse, kind of doing work. Clubhouse to me is work.

So having your life be a constant holiday isn’t a bad thing. It depends. Some people, it just doesn’t work. For some people, it doesn’t work. But for many, it does. For me, it does. And my life is a constant holiday. And I think I put it down to Two things. One, the way I want to live my life. And two, making sure that my shit is all in order. So I don’t have to worry, constant worry about where’s that client coming from. Where’s the next paycheque coming from? I don’t have to worry about my tech because it’s all organised. So the less worry I have, the more my life becomes a holiday effectively.

Anyway, have a great weekend and I’ll see you in the next one. Ciao, bye.
